Mr. Manoj K Das is currently serving as the Director of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Guwahati. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Production Engineering with First Class &Distinction from Saurashtra University, Gujarat and followed by a First Class MBA degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India). He also has Certificate in French Language and Pragya, Parangat in Hindi.Currently he is pursuing PhD in Entrepreneurship from University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya.
Before taking a deputation to IIE, Mr. Das has served as Deputy General Manager (Advisory & Consultancy) in North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi), Guwahati. He has a wide rangeof experience in Administration, Networking, Government Affairs, Entrepreneurship Development, Social Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Mentoring, Consultancy & Advisory, Project Finance& Management, Project Development and Cluster Development Areas.
He has done huge services to NEDFi, his parent organization. Brought in funds worth Rs750 Cr. And was one of the think tanks for setting up market linkages for products from NER and Assam. He was an original promoter of creating handicrafts out of Water Hyacinth. He believes in harnessing Bamboo resources, Green Agriculture, Economic Forestry, Small and Nucleus Organic Tea Garden, Large Scale Asiatic Swamp Buffalo based Dairy Farming and bringing prosperity through One Village One Cluster approach.
As Director of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), an AutonomousOrganization under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship he has brought in visible changes and made it a vibrant centre of Livelihood generation, Skilling and Entrepreneurship. He bagged ASULM- ESTP project to skill few thousand youths in 96 urban bodies of Assam. Under Ade Françoise de DeveloppmentAided Assam Forest project IIE has implementedsustainable livelihood project in 140 JFMC/EDCCs (forest village dwellers) across the state. The project will be extended to all 250 JFMCs of Assam by next year. IIE has been made a Regional Entrepreneurship Hub by the Ministry of MSDE for PM-YUVA scheme, Nodal and Technical Agency for SFURTI Scheme and ASPIRE scheme of MSME. 20 clusters and 10 ASPIRE incubators are planned for next two years which will bring sustainable livelihood to youth of Assam. IIE has become training partner for NSS, DC(Handloom), ASRLMS, NULM, EGM, NERCORMP, CB&TA of DoNER etc. Recent IIE got approval for implementing 10 OBC clusters across India and is in the process of implementing 10 SC Clusters under NSFDC. Thus it is reaching to the grass root.
Under his stewardship IIE started 6 new incubators in-Sport Climbing, Agarbatti Production, Block Printing, Decorative Candles, Handloom, Plumbing, Garments and Tailoring, Beauty & Wellness. It is implementing three ASPIRE livelihood incubators. Two Model Villages are being adopted under RGNIYD which are seeing transformation on an experimental basis, so that such results can be multiplied elsewhere. 5 villages are being adopted under OIL-URJA & JEEVIKA scheme. IOCL has given a village near Noonmati Refinery to be adopted by IIE.
An innovative person, he has introduced UdyomiMitra Cell, Entrepreneurs’ Haat, Green Haat, IIE Udaan-Haat at LGBI Airport etc. to give market access to artisans, growers and weavers. He has been taking IIE to IITF for the past two years.
He has led many projects in NEDFi and IIE as Team Leader.
